This student-led project will advocate for the change in City Code to require LED lighting be used in the common areas of rental properties (such as parking lots and hallways) and the private areas (overhead, undercabinet and wall light fixtures) of rental properties.
This change in code will add to the rental property inspection process a step where the inspectors confirm that the light fixtures in rental properties within our city have been converted to LED, thereby assuring these facilities are converted properly.
